Two people were injured in a head-on collision on Kitsap Way Wednesday night. A woman  driving a minivan swerved into the wrong lane and collided with another vehicle, said Steven Strachan, Bremerton Police chief.

Both drivers were taken to Tacoma General Hospital, said Russ Winger, state patrol spokesman. Their conditions were unknown at press time. State patrol suspects alcohol was a factor. Officers obtained a warrant and blood sample of the causing driver, according to Winger.

Thursday morning, traffic officer JD Miller was driving on Belfair Valley Road when he noticed a scrape on a tree, said Bremerton Police Chief Steven Strachan. Miller turned his car around to take a look and then found a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu in a ravine, Strachan said.

The 22-year-old driver was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tacoma where he’s in critical condition, according to Strachan. Officials believe the driver went into the ravine around 2 a.m.
