Museum to display photographs

A traveling exhibit “100 Years of Photographs: Selections from the Suquamish Tribal Archives,” will open Oct. 4 at the Kitsap County Historical Society Museum.

A traveling exhibit “100 Years of Photographs: Selections from the Suquamish Tribal Archives,” will open Oct. 4 at the Kitsap County Historical Society Museum.

The exhibit will be up through January of 2014 and it is funded by the Kitsap Community Foundation.

Dennis Lewarch, Tribal Historic Preservation Officer, Suquamish Tribe, will give a short presentation on the Suquamish history for the exhibit opening at 6 p.m., on Oct. 4. The public is invited to the free presentation.

The exhibit is dedicated to collecting, preserving and exhibiting the diverse culture, heritage and history of Kitsap County.
