Four injuries reported in five-car collision on Bond Road

POULSBO — Four people were taken to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton Jan. 29 after a five-car collision on Bond Road near Gunderson Road.

The collision occurred around noon. Poulsbo Fire spokeswoman Jody Matson said none of the injuries were life-threatening.

Randy Murray witnessed the collisions. His camper had been stuck in a ditch on Bond Road since last night, after he pulled over to the shoulder to allow faster travelers to pass.

“I was here already,” Murray said. “Maybe a quarter of a mile up there, I see a big van. He went sliding. He started fishtailing, the [car] behind him stopped, then the one behind that one hit, and another. Four in a row.”

He added, “The utility van kept going. He never got hit.”

The Poulsbo-bound lane of traffic was closed because of wreckage.
