Michael R. Miguel passed away on May 18 at Fidalgo Care Center in Anacortes. He was 59.

He was born on Aug. 7, 1954 in Antioch, California to John Paul Miguel (deceased) and Maureen Pell of Mount Vernon, Washington. Mike spent many years in the Anacortes area, where he enjoyed visiting with family and friends. He previously resided in Kingston.

Mike was raised in Knightsen, California, on a productive orchard harvesting almonds and walnuts, and had the opportunity to be around farm life growing up. He moved to Washington and fished in Alaska. He drove a truck for a number of years, delivering produce nationwide. He knew the best routes to take for the best places to eat and to get a good cup of coffee.

Mike was one of six children with many memories that will be cherished by all.

Mike is survived by his son, Dante Miguel, and son’s mother, Lasica, of Kingston; brother, John (Sandi) of Ford, Washington; sister, Barbara (Nick) of Lincoln, California; brother, Frank (Micky), and sister, Cheryl (Todd), all of Anacortes; brother, Robert (Shannon) of Marysville; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews that he loved to tease.

All are welcome to his memorial service at 11 a.m., June 5, at Evans Funeral Chapel, 1105 32nd St., in Anacortes. Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., Anacortes and the San Juan Islands.
