Meet the candidates and have a slice of pie

Event Oct. 3 offers opportunity to get informed on candidates' positions on issues important to community.

The only opportunity scheduled so far in the North End to get informed on candidates’ positions on issues important to the community takes place at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at the Greater Hansville Community Center.

The Greater Hansville Community Center Board and the Kitsap League of Women Voters are co-sponsoring this “Meet the Candidates Night.” Come and meet the candidates that want your vote in this November’s primary election.

As a tradition, coffee and homemade pie will be served at 6:30 p.m., providing an opportunity to personally meet and speak with the candidates. The official program will begin around 7:15 p.m. with statements from the candidates followed by a question-and-answer period.

The program will be conducted in a non-partisan manner and each candidate will be afforded equal time for a statement and to answer questions. Prior to the program, members of the Kitsap League of Women Voters will collect questions from the audience and organize them by topic. They will try to choose questions that represent a variety of issues in an effort to allow the candidates to describe their position on the concerns of North Kitsap voters.

Candidates or their representatives running for elected office for county, state and federal positions will attend.
