Man suffers heart attack at North Kitsap Community Pool

POULSBO — A swimmer, described by an emergency responder as an older man, suffered an apparent heart attack Nov. 6 while swimming laps at North Kitsap Community Pool.

Other people were in the pool, saw the man floating, and “reacted quickly,” Poulsbo Fire Department Battalion Chief Shane Anderson said.

By the time medics arrived at about 1:30 p.m., pool staff members and others were working to resuscitate the man, Anderson said. Medics stabilized the man and transported him to Raab Park for medflight to Harborview Medical Center.
