On Saturday, March 7 the Kingston Albertsons employees will be conducting a pancake breakfast to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The breakfast will be held from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Bayside Community Church on Barber Cut Off Road, between Highway 104 and West Kingston Road.

Advance ticket purchase is not required. The suggested donation at the door is: a small plate of one pancake and one sausage, $2; a larger portion of 3 pancakes and 3 sausages, $5. Coffee, tea and orange juice will also be available.

The MDA is a voluntary health agency working to defeat muscular dystrophy and related diseases through programs of worldwide research, comprehensive services, and far-reaching professional and public health education.

Why does MDA warrant your financial support?

• It is the largest nongovernmental sponsor of neuromuscular disease research.

• It is funded almost entirely by individual, private voluntary contributions.

• It seeks no fees from those it serves.

• They dedicate 78.4 cents of every dollar it spends directly to program services.

Entertainer Jerry Lewis brought national awareness and became the spokesperson of muscular dystrophy through the well-known Labor Day weekend telethons. Here in Kingston we have the opportunity to collectively participate in this worthwhile organization that offers hope to children with MD and those that love them.
