McVicker sworn in as CKSD interim superintendent

During last night's Central Kitsap School Board meeting, David McVicker was sworn into the interim superintendent position.

David McVicker, formerly known as the Central Kitsap School District assistant superintendent, has been sworn in as the interim superintendent for the district.

During a regular session Wednesday evening, McVicker was sworn in by CK School Board Vice President Bruce Richards. Board President Mark Gaines was absent for the meeting.

Richards read the oath of office and asked McVicker to repeat it immediately after his contract for the interim superintendent position was approved by the board.

McVicker stepped into the position just two days after former CKSD Superintendent Hazel Bauman submitted her resignation. Bauman cited health issues as the reason she stepped down earlier than anticipated. McVicker’s contract is through June 30, 2015.

In additional meeting news, the Jenne-Wright Administration Center will have limited hours next week during spring break. The office will be closed Monday and Friday. Tuesday through Thursday office hours will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
