McCormick Village Park improvement work begins in May

The City of Port Orchard park area will close on April 30 so that construction can begin.

PORT ORCHARD — Beginning April 30, the McCormick Village Park will be closed to begin constructing the Phase II improvements to the recreational area.

According to the City of Port Orchard, the project is anticipated to begin sometime in May, with completion by the end of this year. The city is planning a groundbreaking ceremony in May.

Phase II improvements will include sidewalks and paths, a pedestrian bridge and boardwalk, picnic shelters, play areas and play structures, a splash pad water-play feature, fenced dog park areas, paved parking stalls, drainage structures, and landscaping and irrigation.
