Bremerton Mayor Patty Lent joined the Bremerton Citizens Auxiliary Patrol (BCAP) on patrol last week with BCAP members Betty Maples and Robert Bodkin.

Maples and Bodkin briefed the mayor on procedures for the patrol day.

“This is a great citizen-involvement program for our city,” Lent said. “How encouraging and professional our group of BCAP volunteers are as they work to assist our police department and improve the quality of life in Bremerton.”

BCAP is a volunteer organization working under the patronage and direction of the Bremerton Police Department. Beginning in 2015, BCAP’s purpose and scope is the use of qualified volunteers for specific tasks and duties in order to create efficiencies for the department and improve services to the community.
