Man arrested for hit-and-run Saturday in Bremerton

The motorcyclist sustained injuries in the collision and was transported to Harrison Medical Center

A 39-year-old man, Antolin Cruz Ahilon, was arrested Saturday in Bremerton after allegedly colliding with a motorcyclist and fleeing the scene.

According to the incident report, police responded to a collision involving a Yamaha motorcycle and a green Dodge Dakota at the intersection of Sylvan Way and Halverson Ave.

Bremerton Police Department advised the driver of the motorcycle sustained a contusion to the forehead, scrapes to both hands, and a scrape with significant bruising on the right ankle. The victim was transported to Harrison Medical Center for those injuries.

The motorcyclist estimated there was approximately 10 to 15 yards between them and the truck before making the turn. According to the motorcyclist, she remembers being hit, bouncing three times until her helmet came off, and then landing “kind of on the sidewalk.” A witness of the collision told police that he had attempted to flag down the driver of the truck, who just kept going.

Officers responded to the registered owner of the Dodge’s address and found the truck parked in front of the residence with “significant damage to the front passenger side bumper.”

They contacted the suspect, Ahilon, who advised he was driving the truck but didn’t stop because he only had his passport and was scared of the police, documents read. He was placed into custody for hit-and-run with injury with bail set at $75,000.
