Local youths make honor rolls

North Kitsap graduates earn honors, high degrees at universities.

4 named to Montana State honor roll; Tomlinson earns master’s degree
Bozeman, Mont. — The following Poulsbo residents were named to the fall semester honor roll at Montana State University:Ashley Berninghaus, Austin Cherry, Todd Pedersen, Annelise Weinmann.

Students need at least a 3.5 grade point average to be eligible for the dean’s list.

Sam Kienholz Tomlinson, North Kitsap High School Class of 2006, earned a master’s degree in architecture from Montana State University in December.

He is the son of Sandy Kienholz of Poulsbo and Bill Tomlinson of Grand Junction, Colo.

3 named to Univ. of Portland  honor roll
Portland, Ore. — The following Poulsbo residents were named to the fall semester honor roll at University of Portland: Mollie Poor, junior, nursing; Emily Raszler, freshman, political science; and Cara Rohlfing, freshman, nursing.

Students need at least a 3.5 grade point average to be eligible for the dean’s list.

Gelderman makes Univ. of Montana Dean’s List
Dillon, Mont.  — Amanda Gelderman of Poulsbo made the Dean’s List for the fall semester at University of Montana Western.

The Dean’s List includes students who achieved a 3.33 grade point average or better.

The University of Montana Western (www.umwestern.edu) is the first and only public four-year university to use block scheduling, in which students take a single class at a time, three hours per day for 18 days.

Under the block scheduling system, students earn the same amount of credits over a semester as in traditional scheduling models.

Van Cleave earns honors at Phillips Exeter Academy
Exter, N.H. — Sarah R. Van Cleave, grade 11, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy W. Van Cleave of Poulsbo, earned high honors for the fall term at Phillips Exeter Academy.
