Local boys and businesses recognized for contributions

Thanks to Eagle Scouts for improvements to Kingston Cemetery

Kingston should be very proud of three young men, members of Kingston’s Boy Scout Troop 1555. They inquired about what they could do for the Kingston Cemetery for their Boy Scout Eagle Award projects.

The boys, working towards their Eagle ranks, worked hard in many areas, researching, drawing plans, and estimating materials and construction needed to build a parking lot, entryway sign, gate and benches for the cemetery. They enlisted the help of other members of their troop and adult volunteers.

Dylan Boyce planned a parking lot with eight spaces, and had the area graded and graveled with generous help from Zimmer Construction who provided grading and A&L Top Soil who provided gravel.

Aaron Jacot was given a picture of what the Kingston Cemetery Association had in mind for a gate and sign. He did all the estimating and construction plans, with generous contributions from Kingston Lumber who provided timbers for the sign and materials for the gate.

Donald Benect couldn’t be left out and wanted to know what he could do to contribute. He undertook all the planning, estimating and construction of five benches placed around the cemetery. Again, Kingston Lumber generously provided materials.

These boys are wonderful, enthusiastic and very gracious young men, and are an asset to Kingston. Kingston Lumber, Zimmer Construction, A&L Top Soil, Troop 1555 and other volunteers who pitched in are to be thanked for their generous contributions to our town.

It was very sad to see that a truck driver inadvertently destroyed the beautiful gate, but the Boy Scouts will repair the damage.

Many residents express how wonderful the additions to our cemetery look.

The Kingston Cemetery Association thanks the Scouts and local businesses for their contributions that make Kingston so great!
