Since July of 2005 when DSHS first began tracking Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) data entry to monitor for errors as part of a statewide tracking effort, KMHS has had a remarkable track record of near 100 percent accuracy in user entries. More than 693,790 individual transactions have been submitted by the agency during this time for a .05 percent transaction error rate for the entire period. KMHS was commended recently for showing only three errors in recent entries, a near 100 percent resolution/mitigation rate for data entry.
KMHS contracts with the Peninsula Regional Support Network (PRSN) to provide computer support for the PRSN’s entire service area. Located in Kitsap County, the PRSN oversees delivery of mental health services by providers in Clallam, Jefferson and Kitsap counties. KMHS is known for its leadership in using technology to improve services and mental health practice.
“This is an incredible team effort.” said Tracy Thompson, director of information services at KMHS. “We have a deep appreciation for the individuals who enter data for our provider network. It is they who have made the near 100 percent accurate transaction rate possible.”
Kitsap Mental Health Services serves more than 5,400 individuals and is the primary provider of mental health services for Kitsap County. The agency offers a continuum of care to children, adults and older adults, and their families. Access to most KMHS services is dependent on Medicaid eligibility or eligibility for other state funding. Emergency services are available to all regardless of income.
