Kitsap County turnout surpasses 20 percent

Turnout in Kitsap County inched up to 21.05 percent Monday after another 5,704 ballots were received by the county’s Elections Division.

At the end of Monday, a total of 36,793 ballots had been received for Tuesday’s General Election.

Election officials have estimated that turnout will be about 40 percent for the 2019 General Election.

Kitsap County has 174,759 registered votes, though that number may change as more residents register to vote Tuesday.

Polls close at 8 p.m. Nov. 5 and the first vote tally is expected to be posted online at 8:15 p.m. Election Night.
