Man who wore ‘shiesty mask’ in drive-by shooting faces 3 charges

Two men wearing “shiesty masks” were involved in a drive-by shooting, and one was in Kitsap County Superior Court Aug. 27.

The 31-year-old Bremerton man had bail set at $500,000. He faces life in prison and a $50,000 fine for assault, 10 years and $20,000 for drive-by shooting and that same penalty for unlawful possession of a firearm.

Court records show that Bremerton police responded March 3, 2024 at 12:26 a.m. to the 3400 block of Spruce Avenue. A witness walking his dog saw a white Chrysler sedan speeding away with the headlights off.

The victim said he dropped a date off when two men with masks approached, and he thought he was about to be robbed. He punched one of them, and they struggled.

He escaped and got back in the car. The man tried to pull him out, and they fought again. He was able to drive off with one suspect still in the door. He then heard three gunshots. He ended up dropping the date off at a nearby club.

Police found three bullet holes in the rear of the car. The date verified the story, adding she recognized the voice of one of the suspects, whom she had been dating. He had texted a threat to her earlier, using a blue face emoji to signify a cold body.

The date said the suspects were wearing “shiesty masks,” named after a rapper who frequently wears a balaclava. She also thought she knew who the other suspect was. In a later text, the suspect apologized for what “my homie” did, but he did admit to being at the scene.

In a jail phone call that was taped, the suspect said he confronted the girlfriend for “playin’ him.”

Bail $625K for theft robbery, burglary

Bail was set at $625,000 for a 22-year-old man facing three charges in Superior Court Aug. 25.

The man from Marysville was arrested on a warrant from Aug. 12. He faces life in prison and a $50,000 fine for both burglary and robbery, and 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine for theft of a firearm.

Court records show Bremerton police responded Aug. 6 to the 400 block of Summit Avenue. As the victim answered the door, two men pushed their way in, shoving him to a couch and pointing pistols at his head. The two stole a gun and some clothes.

Man still had items he said were stolen

A 29-year-old Poulsbo man was in Superior Court Aug. 17 after falsely reporting items being stolen.

He faces five years in prison and $10,000 in fines for unlawful possession of a firearm, 10 years and a fine of from $1,000 to $25,000 for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and a year in jail and a $5,000 fine for making a false insurance claim.

Court documents say Poulsbo police arrested the man Aug. 26 at 7:30 a.m. in the 20600 block of Viking Avenue NW.

The victim, who turned out to be the suspect, filed an online citizen’s report April 16, 2024 about his Harley Davidson motorcycle valued at $40,000 being stolen. Also taken were a rifle, Ruger and AR-15, along with Jimmy Choo suede boots and a Breitling Superocean black dial watch. A Fender bass, Taylor Rosewood and a James Hetfield signature guitar also were missing.

The case was inactivated in September of 2024.

Since then, he and his girlfriend broke up, and she filed a restraining order. He stole a credit card, and she provided video evidence of the suspect still having items he had listed as stolen. After obtaining a search warrant, police found many of the items. Drugs were also found in a wall safe.

He ended up obtaining over $34,000 from GEICO and $16,000 from Assurant in false insurance claims.

Switchblade found at bike accident site

A 39-year-old Bremerton man was in Superior Court Aug. 25 charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

He faces five years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

Court papers say Bremerton police saw the suspect Aug. 16 at 11:45 p.m. in the 700 block of Park Avenue. He was slumped over his bicycle. He said he had crashed.

Near the man was a switchblade knife, which is illegal in this state. He said he found it earlier in the day at Evergreen Park. A bag of meth was found in his socks. A 9 mm handgun was found in his pants pocket. He also possessed other drug paraphernalia.

He was taken to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale for his injuries.

While woman is jailed, her identity’s stolen

A 37-year-old woman was in Superior Court Aug. 27 charged with identity theft.

She faces five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Court papers say Poulsbo police responded May 22 at 10:20 a.m. to an identity theft report. The victim said her identity was stolen by her former roommate and ex-sister-in-law while she had been incarcerated.

They stole two laptops, two cell phones, some Nike Air’s and withdrew cash from ATMs and stores. The victim provided evidence later to the tune of over $6,425. Store videos verified the evidence.

Woman hits patrol car after smoking meth

A 37-year-old Bremerton woman was in Superior Court Aug. 28 facing four charges.

For attempting to elude, the maximum is five years in prison and a $10,000 fine; for driving under the influence, it’s a year in jail and a $5,000 fine; for hit and run of an unattended vehicle, it’s 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine; and for driving with a suspended license it’s the same penalty.

Court papers say the State Patrol followed a vehicle that fled a traffic stop Aug. 27. Smokey 5 also was tracking the vehicle from above. It collided with a patrol vehicle and stop sticks were authorized, but no pursuit. Soon after, the vehicle lost both passenger-side tires and came to a stop.

There was no one in the vehicle when officers arrived, but one was seen running. When caught, she said she had smoked meth a few hours before.

Man arrested with 6,000 fentanyl pills

A 40-year-old man from Tacoma who had a backpack filled with 6,000 fentanyl pills along with a kilo of heroin was in Superior Court Aug. 28 arrested on a warrant from April.

He faces three charges: unlawful possession of a firearm (19 years in prison and a $20,000 fine); possession with intent to deliver (10 years and a fine from $1,000 to $25,000); and DUI (one year in jail and a $5,000 fine).

Court documents show that Bremerton police were following up on a crash where a driver attempted to elude them, then went to a nearby apartment Jan. 26, 2024. In the parking lot in the 1600 block of W. Admiralty Heights, others saw a man with numerous “Tall Boy” beer cans and a backpack bursting at the seams.

A firearm was seen under a seat. His preliminary blood test alcohol reading was .140, over the .08 legal limit. The backpack was full of plastic bags containing almost 6,000 blue pills known as fentanyl. There was also a kilo of heroin and another block of black tar heroin. Almost eight grams of powdered fentanyl also were discovered. Four ballistic vests also were found, along with adult and even child’s clothing.

Ring camera helps nab burglary suspect

A 37-year-old Bremerton man was in Superior Court Aug. 26 charged with burglary.

He faces 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. Bail was $50,000.

Court documents say Bremerton police arrested the man at 2:50 p.m. Aug. 25 in the 1200 block of 7th Street. The victim said the suspect removed six glass louvers from the front of his house in an attempt to break in. The suspect fled once confronted.

The victim wasn’t going to report it until a neighbor said the same thing happened previously. He was concerned it could become a recurring problem. The suspect was identified with a front door Ring camera photo.

The suspect was later seen at the Bremerton Municipal Courthouse. After his arrest, he said he went there because he had lived there at some point and was confused. But the victim said he had lived there for 46 years.

$6K deposit turns out to be fraud

A 39-year-old man from Keyport was in Superior Court Aug. 25 charged with forgery and possession of stolen property.

He faces five years in prison and a $10,000 fine on each charge.

Court information says Kitsap deputies arrested the man Aug. 23 at 5:17 p.m. in the 9300 block of Silverdale NW.

The victim said she made a check out to a septic installation company for almost $6,000, but they said they never received it. However, she knew the money was taken out of her account. It turned out the suspect signed and deposited the check, but he did not work for the septic company.

Bank video footage shows the suspect. He wondered why he couldn’t access the funds, but they had been put on hold due to the fraud. The suspect said the check came to him, so he thought it was his. He said he couldn’t remember depositing it because of voices in his head.

Man punches victim, takes $10 from him

A 36-year-old Bremerton man was in Superior Court Aug. 28 charged with robbery for punching a man and taking $10.

Bail was $50,000. He faces 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

Court documents say Bremerton police arrested the man Aug. 27 at 5:48 p.m. in the 800 block of 6th Street. The victim said the suspect punched him in the arm and took $10 from him. The suspect said he traded a benefits card worth $25, but it did not have any funds.
