Kingston Middle School student takes fourth in history competition

Ethan Gregory of KMS placed fourth out of 2,700 students competing in annual event

Out of 2,700 students from around the country, Kingston Middle School’s Ethan Gregory placed fourth during the National History Day Contest on June 16.

Ethan was one of two students from KMS to compete, entering his project, focused on The Marshall Plan, titled “Whatever the Weather, We Must Move Together.”

Maria McCanna also made it to the national competition with her project titled “The Cuban Missile Crisis: Gunboat Diplomacy or Tic-Tac-Toe?”

Both students were part of a group from Washington entered in the contest. The contest is an annual event with more than a half million students. The projects all focus around historical topics. Students present their work, which are eventually evaluated by professional historians and educators.
