KHS presents “David and Lisa,” a play about teen mental illness

Drama club brings first theater performance to new school

The Kingston High School Drama Club brings the first theater performance to a stage that will be created in the school’s Commons with the production of “David and Lisa,” directed by English teacher Alison Roberts and senior Kendal Peiguss.

“David and Lisa” is a story of two mentally-ill teens who forge a friendship and learn to conquer their illnesses at a school for children with mental and psychological issues. Teachers, other students and the head psychologist also interact in the lives of these two friends.

Peiguss has many years of theater experience both at North Kitsap High School and with Bob DeWeese’s drama group. The actors include Julian Gifford as David and Teresa Nguyen as Lisa; Beverly Green as Dr. Alan Sinford; Greta Miller and Frank Murdock as David’s parents; Jonathan Pruitt, Debra Simpson, Kay Peiguss and Hannah Hayes as staff at the school; Hannah Hayes, Russty Scott, Amber Welsch, Jane Older, Jeremy Reed and Greta Miller as students at the school; and Patrick Hayes as the boy on the street.

“David and Lisa” performances take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 9-10 and 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11 in the Kingston High School Commons. Tickets are $9 for adults, $7 for students and senior citizens.
