Justine Morris presented scholarship

Justine Morris, of Port Orchard, was one of five students who were presented a $1,000 scholarship by the Bremerton Chapter of the United States Submarine Veterans at a June 17 ceremony at the Bremerton Fleet Reserve No. 29 facility.

Justine Morris, of Port Orchard, was one of five students who were presented a $1,000 scholarship by the Bremerton Chapter of the United States Submarine Veterans at a June 17 ceremony at the Bremerton Fleet Reserve No. 29 facility.

For more than 30 years, the chapter’s Lt. William “Willie” Spoon Memorial Scholarship program has provided awards to children and grandchildren of submarine veterans.

Morris was sponsored by her grandfather, Gregory Fessler, of Manchester. She is attending New York University majoring in journalism.

She is the daughter of Dedra Morris, of Port Orchard.
