The skies of Poulsbo will be alight with colors this July 3, after the unique holiday nearly passed by unsparked. Fireworks on the Fjord, a favorite Independence Day event in Little Norway, was cancelled by its organizers earlier this year due to a lack of funds and missed deadlines.

The city of Poulsbo later announced the event would happen, one way or another.

Now, Poulsbo volunteers and the Viking Fest Corporation have announced they’ll host “Poulsbo’s Fireworks on the 3rd,” an event sponsored by the Suquamish Clearwater Casino and citizen donations.

Contemporary Navy Band “Passage” will play at the Kvelstad Pavilion in Liberty Bay Park beginning at 8:30 p.m. The fireworks will start about 10 p.m.
