Journalists share stories of covering Oso tragedy in new video

Last month, students from Washington State University traveled to Oso and Darrington with journalists from The Daily Herald, the North Kitsap Herald's sister newspaper in Everett. The students, who are journalism and media production majors at The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication, documented the Daily Herald's coverage of the community as the anniversary of the tragic mudslide approached.

Last month, students from Washington State University traveled to Oso and Darrington with journalists from The Daily Herald, the North Kitsap Herald’s sister newspaper in Everett.

The students, who are journalism and media production majors at The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication, documented the Daily Herald’s coverage of the community as the anniversary of the tragic mudslide approached.

Students Marc Wai, McKayla Fox, and Calley Hair interviewed journalists, rescuers, and survivors about the Daily Herald’s coverage for this video.
