PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Jessica Lynn Odden lost her battle with cancer on March 4. She was 35.

She was born on Mother’s Day, May 9, 1976. She was a Watland descendant.

She is survived by her father, Paul Odden (Lourdes); mother, Sandra Bretsen Odden; sister and faithful caregiver, Leslie McMillan (Jim); nieces, Jaime, Julie and Jessica; grandparents, Art and Maggie Bretsen; aunts, Sherri Marti and Lindy Bretsen; uncles, John Pappas and Fred Marti; and cousins and their children.

Jessica was a cosmetologist. She graduated from Bryman College in Bremerton with a degree in hygiene, attended Olympic College in Bremerton, was attending Tidewater Community College in Portsmouth, Va.

Memorial is March 9, 7 p.m., at Collinswood Baptist Church in Portsmouth. Her ashes will be returned to Washington. Contributions preferred to “Jessica’s Fund,” c/o Leslie McMillan, 221 Logan Drive, Portsmouth VA 23701; or Collinswood Baptist Church, 1030 City Park Ave., Portsmouth, VA 23701.
