TACOMA – CHI Franciscan Health has named David Schultz market president for the Peninsula Region that includes Harrison Medical Center, Bremerton and Silverdale and St. Anthony Hospital, Gig Harbor.

Schultz has been serving as president of Harrison Medical Center since December 2014. St. Anthony Hospital president Kurt Schley has accepted the chief executive officer position for CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck, North Dakota.

“This move toward regional leadership represents an important strategy for CHI Franciscan and will allow us to align our leadership structure to support geographic interaction,” said Ketul J. Patel, CEO of CHI Franciscan Health in a press statement.

“This will help us maximize the delivery of high quality, seamless care and improve patient access to our communities on the Peninsula.”

“Kurt Schley dedicated himself to working with physicians, leaders and staff to strengthen St. Anthony’s position as a major part of the Gig Harbor community,“ said Patel. “St. Anthony would not be where it is today without Kurt’s leadership and we know that David will continue to build upon that foundation.”

Schley will remain with St. Anthony Hospital until the end of July. Schultz will begin his role as market president on Aug. 1.
