The Kitsap Rifle and Revolver Club and Kitsap County will have a second day of mediation in May, Neil Wachter, deputy prosecutor for the county said Monday.
The first session of mediation with mediator Bill Joyce from the Seattle firm Salter Joyce Ziker was in February, and Wachter hopes the second session of mediation will bring both sides to an agreement.
“I can’t even speculate,” Wachter said in response to whether a settlement would be reached. “All I can say is that the parties will explore all their options.”
In September, Kitsap County Prosecutor Russell Hauge filed the lawsuit against the Seabeck gun club for alleged nuisances after neighbors of the range lodged noise and safety complaints.
A trial for the case remains scheduled for August 9.
