CHEER CAMP

The Central Kitsap Junior High School Squad really showed their team spirit at the 2008 National Cheerleading Association (NCA) Cheer Camp at Western Washington University. They not only won the NCA Spirit Trophy (which is voted on by all teams at camp), but they received the HERKIE T.E.A.M. Trophy which is awarded to the one squad that shows true team spirit, unity and leadership throughout the week. Besides winning the spirit stick every day they were there, they won a bid to Nationals, superior ribbons in both events and a Technical Excellence award for “motions.”

With the HERKIE award, they received invitations to perform at the 2008 Thanksgiving in Paradise in Hawaii and the 2009 Fed Ex Orange Bowl.
