POULSBO — Some seven days of rain are coming, turning the week’s snowfall into snowmelt. And that’s led the National Weather Service to issue a Flood Watch advisory for North Kitsap. 

Rain, possibly mixed with snow, freezing rain and sleet, are expected Thursday night, with the temperature rising to around 38 by midnight, according to the National Weather Service. Little or no ice or snow accumulation is expected.

Friday, it’s going to be wet and warmer, with rain and high temperature near 44 and a south wind between 6 and 13 mph. Rain will continue through the weekend – day and night – and into next week, with temperatures peaking at 46 Saturday. Otherwise, expect daytime highs in the mid-40s and overnight lows in the high 30s.

Puget Sound Energy posted this alert on its website, PSE.com:

Heavy snowfall Wednesday followed by freezing rain Thursday morning is causing extensive power outages in Puget Sound Energy’s service area due to sagging or breaking tree limbs and falling trees. As of 1 p.m. Thursday, approximately 200,000 PSE customers were without electric service, and more weather-related outages were occurring.

PSE line crews are working around the clock to restore electric service as quickly as possible. Please take steps to stay safe and comfortable in the event your service is interrupted.
