Fishline mourns death of volunteer

A celebration of Linda Clarke’s life is scheduled for May 18, 3 p.m., at North Kitsap Baptist Church, 20516 Little Valley Road NE, Poulsbo.

POULSBO — A celebration of Linda Clarke’s life is scheduled for May 18, 3 p.m., at North Kitsap Baptist Church, 20516 Little Valley Road NE, Poulsbo.

Rae Rodriguez, client services advocate at North Kitsap Fishline, where Clarke volunteered, said the celebration is open to the public. “Bring a finger food to share,” Rodriguez said.

Clarke died April 14 from a head trauma caused by a fall. “She had been struggling with blood pressure that often left her dizzy,” Rodriguez said. Rodriguez referred to Clarke as Fishline’s “angel and spiritual cheerleader.”

“I can’t imagine this world without her smile and those crazy tie-dyed socks,” Rodriguez said. “Her husband, sons and grandson are in our prayers.”

Sharon Nichols, serving chair at Poulsbo First Lutheran Church, said Clarke and her family had a very successful business in the Seattle area and “Linda wanted to give some of their wealth back to the community.”

“She would come into the Fishline and Poulsbo First Lutheran Church’s Toy Shop, look around to see what toys we were running low on, and then go out and buy the needed toys,” Nichols said. “Linda volunteered in many other ways. She was always a helper at Project Connect in Bremerton. She was an extremely colorful character as well. Our community will miss her a lot.”
