Editorial-Thank you Glenn Gross

As folks dig in against Wal-Mart, Olhava and development in Poulsbo that threatens its small town feel, we’d like to honestly and sincerely thank our out-going Planning Director Glenn Gross for all the hard work he accomplished here.

As folks dig in against Wal-Mart, Olhava and development in Poulsbo that threatens its small town feel, we’d like to honestly and sincerely thank our out-going Planning Director Glenn Gross for all the hard work he accomplished here.

Glenn’s hanging up his UGA maps and enormous acronym list for retirement but before he does, the Herald would like to wish him the best. That’s what we honestly feel he did for us while he was here — his best.

Not the most popular kid on the block for certain, he definitely made some adversaries through his tough career. But we’d like to remind Glenn that he also made some good friends. We appreciate the work he’s done, whether we agreed with it all or not.

He was a workhorse for the city and kept his cool in some very trying times. City planners tackle stuff most of us wouldn’t touch with a 10-foot pole. Glenn did this and more and he did it with a smile.

Thanks again, and we hope the open road agrees with you.
