First-ever Kitsap Harbor Festival a success.

The first-ever Kitsap Harbor Festival took place Memorial Day weekend in Bremerton and Port Orchard.

The festival was conceived by the Port of Bremerton as a follow-up from last year’s successful Bremerton Marina grand opening event.

Port Orchard joined forces with the city of Bremerton and both cities offered various activities throughout the long, holiday weekend.

Some Kitsap Harbor Festival main attractions included the Kitsap Cup Regatta, the Lone Sailor statue dedication in Bremerton, classic movies, pancake breakfasts, vendor booths, entertainment, the Port Orchard Farmers Market, a beer garden and classic cars on display in downtown Bremerton.

Several tall ships visited the Bremerton and Port Orchard marinas and the S.S. Virginia V sat in the Port Orchard Marina for people to visit.

The S.S. Virginia V is the last surviving boat from the “Mosquito Fleet” and hasn’t visited Kitsap County in many years.
