POULSBO — Donna slipped away from us to heaven surrounded by her family on April 28, 2012.

Born on Dec. 15, 1934 to Keith and Helen Crocker in Everett. Donna grew up and raised her family in Poulsbo with her husband of 58 years, Richard Simms.

Donna graduated in 1953 from North Kitsap High School, where she met her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Dick, at the Lemolo Club House with her best friend and future sister-in-law Sally and Dick’s brother Bob Simms.

Donna accomplished much in her life as a loving wife, a wonderful mother, gracious grandmother and devoted friend. But her accomplishments will forever be remembered in the small acts that touched many along the way.

Donna foremost loved her family and friends and cherished the time spent together visiting and laughing. She enjoyed living at Timberlakes and the many trips she and Dick took to the ocean in their motorhome. She loved going shopping with her daughter and always worried too much about her “boys.”

Donna is survived by her husband Dick of Lake Stevens, children Rich and Ingrid Simms of Mukilteo, Don Simms of Poulsbo, Dean and Beth Simms of Kingston, DeeAnn and Steve Varner of Marysville and Doug and Meika Simms of Rochester; brothers Ken Crocker, Steve and Vera Crocker and many loving grandchildren, sister- and brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service and celebration of Donna’s life will be held at North Kitsap Baptist Church on May 12 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Donna can be provided to North Kitsap Baptist Church Outreach.
