Day of Caring on June 22

KITSAP COUNTY — Volunteers are needed for the 25th annual Day of Caring, sponsored by United Way of Kitsap County, to help with chores such as painting, restocking food bank shelves and improving playgrounds.

The Day of Caring takes place from 7:30 a.m. to mid-afternoon on Friday, June 22. Volunteers will receive breakfast, a to-go lunch, t-shirt, water and other giveaways at check-in. The check-in location is the Presidents Hall at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds in Bremerton 1200 Fairgrounds Road NW, Bremerton.

All groups and ages are invited to participate.

This annual event allows volunteers to give back to the community, organizers said. Last year, more than 450 volunteers invested approximately $72,900 in sweat equity.

To register, go to www.volunteerkitsap.org, click on “view projects” in the Day of Caring bar and respond by June 21.
