Culture and good cheer: Viking Fest 2013

For the 45th year, lovers of Scandinavian culture celebrated Viking Fest, founded to celebrate Norwegian Constitution Day.

POULSBO — For the 45th year, lovers of Scandinavian culture celebrated Viking Fest, founded to celebrate Norwegian Constitution Day.

The usual events went off without a hitch — the Road Race, the parade, the Lions Club pancake breakfast, the oyster and lutefisk eating contests, as well as the many food and vendor booths, live entertainment and a carnival.

Newer events were also successful, such as the Viking Paddle paddleboard race in Liberty Bay, Murder Mystery game and Message-In-A-Bottle Race.
