Councilman Mike Sullivan passes away at 65

BREMERTON — Bremerton City Councilman Mike Sullivan passed away today at 12:45 a.m. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer a little more than a month ago. Sullivan was 65 years old.

BREMERTON — Bremerton City Councilman Mike Sullivan passed away today at 12:45 a.m. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer a little more than a month ago. Sullivan was 65 years old.

From City Council President Greg Wheeler:

“It is with deep sadness that the members of the Bremerton City Council and Council staff announce the passing of our friend and colleague, Council Vice President, Mike Sullivan at 12:45am of Pancreatic Cancer. At this time we are holding his wife Pat, family, and friends close to our hearts. Each of us not only grieves the passing of a tremendous individual but also for the loss to the City of Bremerton, especially to the community of City Council District 1.”

Sullivan was in his first term as a councilman for District 1. He was elected in 2013. A retired chief petty officer and submariner, Sullivan served 23 years in the Navy. He called Bremerton home for more than three decades.
