As the 2025 holiday season comes to a close, it’s the perfect time to pause and reflect on the year behind us. Through challenges like inflation, government shutdowns, and shifting support programs, one truth has shone brightly: our community service organizations remain the heart of North Kitsap, offering care and hope to neighbors in need.
Despite the hurdles, generosity has poured in. From monetary gifts to nonperishable food, from homegrown produce to personal hygiene items, the people of North Kitsap have stepped up in remarkable ways. Thanks to this outpouring of kindness, families received the support they needed, and the season was brighter than it might have been otherwise.
Yes, challenges remain. SNAP benefits are shifting, and the farm-to-food bank subsidy program will be ending. But if 2025 taught us anything, it’s that when our community comes together, we can weather storms with resilience and compassion.
While the Poulsbo Lions Bellringer Fund didn’t quite reach its $20,000 goal ($9,971 as of Dec. 21), every single dollar raised will go directly to local service organizations. That means more meals, more support, and more hope for our neighbors.
As we step into the new year, let’s carry the spirit of giving beyond December. Your continued support ensures that the light of kindness shines all year long. Together, we can make 2026 a year of generosity, resilience, and community joy.
