HANSVILLE — Looking for a great deal on an interesting item? Come to the 47th annual Greater Hansville Community Center’s rummage sale.

Entrance is free. The sale runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 13, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 14.

Eager treasure hunters start to gather at 8 a.m. and, as soon as the rope falls, the race to the tents and tables brimming with bargains begins.

“The furniture sells out fast,” event co-chair Lynn Hix said.

“We have so many beautiful pieces this year — desks, tables and chairs, bookcases, headboards … We also have an amazing variety of dinnerware sets, small appliances and linens, more than ever before. You can probably replace every item in your kitchen and dining room.”

Other well-stocked areas include tools, toys, sporting goods, electronics, garden, antiques, art and collectibles.

“We were lucky to receive the contents of two Seattle homes for this sale,” community center president Connie Gordon said. “I personally think the jewelry and children’s clothing donations are outstanding.”

On Aug. 14, everything will be half price.

Dozens of volunteers have been receiving, sorting, cleaning, testing, and storing

donations for months.

“It’s a lot of work, but worth it,” Gordon said. “What we earn keeps the community center and all its worthwhile events and programs going all year.”

Shop the rummage said and try a barbecued pulled chicken sandwich or hot dog. New this year: meatball sandwiches, plus sodas, bottled water and chips.

Parking is free.
