Beach walk at Evergreen Rotary Park Saturday:

The Washington State University Beach Watchers of Kitsap County will host a low tide beach walk at Evergreen Rotary Park in Bremerton from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Participants are advised to bring flashlights or headlamps and to wear waterproof clothes and boots. Central Kitsap Community Council meeting:

The Central Kitsap Community Council will hold a regular meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19 at the Water and Fire District Community Room, 5300 NW Newberry Hill Road, Silverdale. The meeting will include presentations from the Hood Canal Enhancement Group about the state of Hood Canal and upcoming projects in Central Kitsap, as well as Kitsap Transit’s progress in finding a replacement transit center from Kitsap Mall in Central Kitsap. Officers will also be elected for 2011. The meeting’s agenda is available at www.kitsapgov.com/dcd/ckcc.

Kitsap Regional Coordinating Council executive board meeting:

The executive board of the Kitsap Regional Coordinating Council is scheduled to meet at 8 a.m. Jan. 25 with a study session following at 10:20 a.m. in the main meeting chambers of the Norm Dicks Government Center. The meeting’s agenda will be posted at www.kitsapregionalcouncil.org one week before the meeting. The Norm Dicks Government Center is located at 345 Sixth Street, Bremerton.

Military Officer’s Association of America monthly meeting:

The Kitsap Chapter of the Military Officer’s Association of America will hold its monthly luncheon Jan. 28 at the Elks Lodge, 4131 Pine Road NE, Bremerton. A social hour will begin at 11 a.m. with lunch at noon and a program to follow. Retired Marine Corps Col. Charles Meadows will speak on his experiences leading groups disarming unexploded ordnance in Vietnam. Those interested in attending the luncheon should RSVP by calling Myra Lovejoy at (360) 769-2412 by Jan. 23.

Celebrate Robert Burns:

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will hold its annual Robert Burns Night at 7 p.m. Jan. 21. Every January, people across the globe celebrate Scotland’s favorite son who is well known for the song “Auld Lyng Syne.” The Bremerton celebration will include performances by the Kitsap Scottish Country Dancers and Tacoma Scots Pipe Band. There will be the traditional presentation of the haggis and guests will be able to sample Scottish foods. Admission is $10 at the door. The church is located at 700 Callahan Drive, Bremerton.

Clear Creek volunteer training:

The Clear Creek Interpretive Center in Silverdale will have a training session to teach people how to become volunteers for the upcoming Salmon in the Classroom program. Volunteer training is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 9 and volunteers can choose to either be helper or lead volunteers during the program with the kids. Habitat for Humanity project:

Construction on the East Bremerton site at Cornerstone Place resumes after the holiday season and there are five homes that remain to be completed. Kitsap Patriots Tea Party event:

The Kitsap Patriots Tea Party will host speaker Brian Hodges at 7 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Silverdale Beach Hotel. Hodges is a managing attorney at the Pacific Legal Foundation. The Pacific Legal Foundation is an organization formed to litigate for property rights, limited government and the free enterprise system. The Silverdale Beach Hotel is located at 3073 NW Bucklin Hill Road.

Kitsap Seniors Singles meeting:

The Kitsap Seniors Singles will meet at 1 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Rolling Hills Golf Restaurant, 2483 NE McWilliams Road in East Bremerton. All seniors are welcome to attend and have lunch together to mingle with old friends and make new ones. The group will be back at the Elks picnic shelter Feb. 20 for a potluck and games.
