Student makes honor roll; Kaleetan ferry returns to Seattle/Bremerton route; art show reception.

Local student earns spot on honor roll

Kelsey R. Crane, from Bremerton, earned a spot on the University of Wyoming’s honor roll in the spring semester. To earn these spots, students were required to earn a 3.4 or better GPA for regularly enrolled undergraduates above freshman standing; or be freshmen who have earned a 3.25 GPA or better; and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits taken for letter grades.

Kaleetan returns to Seattle/Bremerton

The 144-vehicle Washington State Department of Transportation ferry, Kaleetan, returned to the Seattle/Bremerton route July 31, replacing the 188-vehicle Walla Walla as another vessel in the fleet prepares to enter the shipyard for scheduled maintenance.

Plan for additional wait times during the morning and afternoon commutes due to the decrease in vessel capacity.

Art show gala reception Aug. 5

Northwest artist FaLisha Fae will display her work starting Aug. 4 at Dylan Fabrics, 408 Pacific Ave., Bremerton.

A gala reception is planned for 5-8 p.m. Aug. 5 at that location to celebrate Fae’s work.

Fae is completing a senior year art internship with Amy Burnett through Cornish College of the Arts. Striving for maturing skill and technique, she pursues her art through several mediums and perspectives.

After the reception, the show will remain up for two weeks, viewable 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays.

Financial advisor hosts coffee club

John L. Moroney, a local Edward Jones financial advisor, will host a coffee club at 8:30 a.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 2416 NW Myhre Road Suite 102, Silverdale.

Getting started with Android devices

The classes will help users develop a general understanding of their device. Topics may include placing and receiving phone calls, sending text messages, adding and updating contacts, connecting to Bluetooth devices, utilizing the camera and connecting your device to a Wi-Fi network. Vino and Vinyasa with Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run of West Sound is partnering with Viva Flow Yoga to offer a 90-minute, all-level yoga class, followed by a 90-minute wine tasting to cap off the evening. The class is 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18 at Viva Flow Yoga in downtown Bremerton. The class is $45; all proceeds go to Girls on the Run of West Sound. Patron Appreciation Day set for Aug. 16

The Downtown Bremerton Friends of the Library is hosting a patron appreciation day from 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 612 Fifth St., Bremerton. Eighth annual Kitsap Wine Festival set for Aug. 13 in Bremerton

BREMERTON – The eighth annual Kitsap Wine Festival at Harborside Fountain Park returns with a celebration of food, wine and community from 2-5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13.
