Your daily coffee can do so much more than wake you up in the morning. The Coffee Oasis offers locally roasted coffee and many menu items such as soup, sandwiches and salads that directly benefit youth ages 13 to 25.
The Coffee Oasis started in 1997 with the goal of offering hope and opportunity to thousands of youth. And it has done just that. The original center opened in Bremerton and others opened in Poulsbo (2012), Kingston (2018), Port Orchard and Tacoma.
The North Kitsap Bellringer Fund has contributed to those programs since 2016.
The centers offer a range of services from meals, showers, laundry, clothing, job training, a crisis text line, walk-in crisis services, mobile crisis services, substance use services, a youth shelter and supportive housing.
Cody Clark, Kitsap Community Development manager, said their goal is to be out there, wherever they are, in the midst of whatever they are going through to compassionately offer youth the encouragement and resources they need.
