City seeks proposals for use of former baseball field

POULSBO — The City of Poulsbo is looking for proposals for the use of a vacant ball field.

The City Council approved a request-for-proposal process. Proposals the city seeks are for 1.82 acres of land, known as the Little Valley Ballfield, which it acquired in August from Kitsap County. The field is a small baseball diamond on the corner of Little Valley Road and Berndt Road.

The city would like an outside organization to take over management of the site and operate it for recreational use. The city will lease the land at $1 per year.

The site must be used for recreation with no added buildings, unless the organization goes through the city’s planning process. The organization must also have insurance.

Submit a proposal to Poulsbo Parks and Recreation. Deadline is Jan. 31. The city’s Parks and Recreation Commission will review proposals in February.

The city will hold two informational meetings for interested parties: Nov. 14 at 10 a.m., and Nov. 18 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
