BREMERTON — Bremerton Police suspended Detective Sgt. Kevin Crane three days without pay for frequently making “sexual jokes and comments.”

The city hired an outside investigator to look into allegations against Crane. The investigator found that along with jokes and comments, Crane “cultivated an environment where such jokes and comments became commonplace,” according to Steven Strachan, Bremerton police chief.

“Based on the investigator’s report, I found that Sgt. Crane violated city policy by his conduct and imposed a three day unpaid suspension as a disciplinary sanction,” Strachan said. “There were also failures within the chain of command of the detectives’ unit to notice and correct the conduct before a formal complaint about it was received.”
