Citizen advisory committee to discuss new toll rates for Tacoma Narrows Bridge

The Tacoma Narrows Bridge Citizen Advisory Committee will meet next week to discuss toll rate adjustment needs this year, which would take effect July 1.

GIG HARBOR — The Tacoma Narrows Bridge Citizen Advisory Committee will meet next week to discuss toll rate adjustment needs this year, which would take effect July 1.

They will formulate recommendations on the necessary adjustment which will be submitted to the Washington State Transportation Commission by March.

The toll rates are contingent on review of financial information and forecasts by the Citizen Advisory Committee.

The first workshop will be hosted from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at the Gig Harbor Civic Center, 3510 Grandview St. Additional dates are being scheduled in February and March, and will be posted on the committee’s website when they are confirmed.

All Citizen Advisory Committee meetings are open to the public. The Citizen Advisory Committee is a governor-appointed, nine-member committee required by law to make toll rate recommendations to the Washington State Transportation Commission.
