Central Kitsap School District contributes to United Way campaign

The best way to acknowledge a generous community is to return the favor, the Central Kitsap School District says.

District employees raised more than $69,000 for United Way’s 2010 campaign, a 20 percent increase from 2009, and participation in the voluntary program was up 11 percent.

“The Central Kitsap School District is committed to giving back to our community,” the district said in a statement released Friday. “We recognized a

need and stepped up to meet it — a reflection of the care and generosity demonstrated in our classrooms, schools and offices throughout the year.”

United Way partners with agencies throughout Kitsap County to support families and individuals who are in need.
