OLALLA — The School of Magical Strings is offering five weeks of beginning and intermediate classes in Celtic Harp this winter in Olalla, ending the third week of March.

Beginning and intermediate Celtic harp classes start Monday, Feb. 18, at Magic Hill Studio, 9052 SW Willock Rd. The beginning classes meets from 6-7:25 p.m. and the intermediate class is from 7:35-9 p.m.

The cost for the five-week term is $150 plus a $10 registration fee. Harps are available for rent or purchase from instructor Philip Boulding.

In the beginning classes students will first learn the rudiments of harp technique, followed with a delightful repertoire of traditional Irish and Welsh melodies in a variety of forms and modes.
