Auditions for Anne Frank musical in Silverdale: Open auditions for “Yours, Anne” will be at the Central Stage Theatre of County Kitsap, 9729 Silverdale Way NW, Silverdale

Auditions for Anne Frank musical in Silverdale:

Open auditions for “Yours, Anne” will be at the Central Stage Theatre of County Kitsap, 9729 Silverdale Way NW, Silverdale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 29 and from 2 to 5 p.m. Jan. 30. The production seeks those ages 13 and older. Those planning to audition should come prepared to sing a Broadway song that will show their vocal range and to either bring sheet music for the accompanist or a taped accompaniment. A total of four males and four females will be cast for the musical that is based on the story of Anne Frank. It will be directed by Deborah Rice.

Implantable cardiac defibrillator patients support group:

A support group for cardiac patients who have received an implantable cardiac defibrillator are able to meet each other in a support group from 3 to 4 p.m. Jan. 31. To get more information and the location of the session, call Kitsap Cardiology Consultants at (360) 373-2547.

Seniors luncheon:

Chuckwagon Senior Nutrition Program invites seniors age 60 and older to “Wear Your Pajamas To Lunch Day” on Thursday, Jan. 27. Lunch will be served at noon at three locations including Pinewood Manor Apartments, 280 Sylvan Way in East Bremerton, Bremerton Senior Center, 1140 Nipsic Ave. in Manette and Silverdale United Methodist Church, 9982 Silverdale Way NW. The menu includes blushing pear, shepherd’s pie, cabbage, a roll and brownie. A $3 donation is suggested. Reservations are required by 2:30 p.m. Jan. 26 at (360) 377-8511.

Cancer Nutrition Class:

Registered dietitians from Harrison Medical Center will discuss the benefits of superfood in cancer care from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Jan. 24. The class will be at the garden room at Harrison Medical Center in Silverdale, located at 1800 NW Myhre Drive. Refreshments will be provided. School district instructional materials committee meeting rescheduled:

The Central Kitsap School District Instructional Materials Committee meeting originally scheduled for Jan. 21 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 8. The committee is responsible for reviewing materials in support of classroom curriculum. Meetings are scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Jenne-Wright board room, 9210 Silverdale Way NW, Silverdale.

Sheriff’s Office Awards Ceremony:

Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office will recognize the office’s 2010 employees of the year as well as service and divisional awards and promotions at an awards ceremony at 5 p.m. Jan. 25 open to family, friends, and the public. The ceremony will be at the Christian Life Center’s main auditorium located in Port Orchard at 1780 SE Lincoln Ave.

Distinguished speaker series at Naval Undersea Museum:

Megan Huff will speak about her graduate work on undersea archaeology at 2 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Naval Undersea Museum. Huff has examined the difference between archaeology and treasure hunting. Silverdale chiropractic exams:

The office of Dr. Brandy Morgan will offer chiropractic examinations and treatments from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 29 with 50 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Kitsap Humane Society. Shantala performance:

Shantala, the duo that performs kirtan or sacred Indian chanting, will be live at West Sound Unity Church, 1271 Trenton Ave. in Manette Jan. 28. Kitsap Democratic Women meeting:

The Kitsap Democratic Women will meet Jan. 26 at AA China Buffet, 3583 Wheaton Way, Bremerton. A no-host lunch buffet will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the program following at 12:30 p.m. The meeting will focus on the year’s goals and expectations for the organization. Kitsap Regional Coordinating Council meeting:

The next executive board meeting of the Kitsap Regional Coordinating Council is scheduled for Jan. 25 at the Norm Dicks Government Center. The board meeting will be from 8 to 10 a.m. with a study session to follow from 10:20 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The meeting’s agenda is posted on the website at www.kitsapregionalcouncil.org.

Solo piano concert by John Nilsen:

Classical pianist John Nilsen will be performing solo at 7 p.m. Friday at Browns-ville United Methodist Church, 8811 Illahee Road NE, Bremerton. Born in Seattle in 1956, Nilsen moved to Portland, Ore. in 1960 and has been playing the piano since he was 6 years old.
