Rummage Sale: St. Elizabeth Orthodox Mission’s third annual rummage sale will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 8 and 9 in the Poulsbo Business Park between Bond Road and Little Valley Road. Proceeds will go to the building fund.

BARN DANCE: North Kitsap Eagles is hosting a Barn Dance Aug. 9. The day will start with a BBQ cook-off. EYES IN THE WOODS: North Kitsap Trout Unlimited is sponsoring an Eyes in the Woods criminal observation reporting and training session from 7-9 p.m. and Aug. 13 at the Kingston Fire and Rescue station on Miller Bay Road. Eyes in the Woods is a statewide organization that teaches people who happen to see a game violation being committed in the outdoors what evidence to gather and how to report the observation to a local game warden. BRIDGE TOUR: Space is still available for Poulsbo Parks and Recreation’s Aug. 14 senior excursion to the Hood Canal Bridge and Port Townsend. PARLEZ-VOUS FRANCAIS?: L’Aventure Francaise Summer Camps, two age-appropriate French language programs, are offered by native speaker Myriam Mullen. Preschool camp will include stories, games, songs and crafts. Children’s camp is for ages 6-12. They will embark on an adventure that will include trips to the Seattle Aquarium and the Pacific Science Center, as well as cooking, arts and crafts, all while learning the French language and culture. SCHOOL SUPPLIES: The North Kitsap Fishline Food Bank is starting its 2008-09 school supplies program which provides K-12 children in need with basic school supplies. Items such as glue sticks, loose-leaf notebook paper, colored pencils, washable color markers, spiral paper and more are needed. SUMMER FUN AT NAVAL MUSEUM: Kids and parents are invited to drop in from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. every Wednesday this summer for free hands-on activities about the undersea. There will be water tables, face painting, sidewalk chalk, undersea stories and films. Boots the Diver, the museum mascot, will appear. Each Wednesday will feature a different craft activity. HISTORICAL SOCIETY: The Kingston Historical Society meets in the Indianola Room of the Kingston Community Center at 10 a.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month from January to October. The group works to collect stories and preserve pictures of Kingston and its vicinity. Visitors are welcome.
