RELAY FOR LIFE: The Central Kitsap/Bremerton 2008 Relay for Life Relay for Life auction will begin at 12:30 p.m. April 27 at the Bremerton Elks Lodge, 4131 Pine Road in East Bremerton. The event will feature a live and silent auction. Great items and potential bargains will be available in both auctions, including items ranging from a mountain bike, one night stays at premium local hotels, fine dining, art, and much more. All proceeds from the auction items go to the American Cancer Society through the Relay for Life. Tickets are available for $20 from any Central Kitsap/Bremerton Relay For Life Team or by calling (360) 895-0174. Ticket price includes door prize entry and luncheon.

NAMI: NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) meets at 7 p.m. May 1 in Haselwood Room -(Kitsap Mental Health Services, 5455 Almira Drive in East Bremerton. Come hear about veterans’ mental health at this month’s education meeting. Dr. Bruce Graunke, a clinical psychologist at the American Lake VA Hospital since 2000 and previously at the Houston VA for 14 years, will be the speaker.

FEATURED ARTIST: Collective Visions Gallery presents its May featured Artist, Sydni Sterling, from April 29 through May 31. A reception for Sterling’s work will be held May 2 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the gallery. Sterling’s expressive style captures the movement, color and light of her favorite subject: water gardens. Canvases range in size from murals to miniatures. Also showing is an extensive collection of giclee prints on canvas of new and favorite images from Sterling Studio in the new gallery store. ART AUCTION: Peninsula Services is proud to announce May 9 as the date of the third annual Art Auction, sponsored by Key Bank. The auction will be held at the Elks Lodge, located at 4131 Pine Road NE, Bremerton. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and the live auction begins at 5:30 p.m. All proceeds will support the employment programs of Peninsula Services that help adults with developmental disabilities and other challenges.
