Buccanneer Boosters meet to discuss funding issues

Boosters look to bolster amenities for athletes and fans at Kingston High School

The Kingston High School Buccaneers Boosters will hold a general membership meeting from 6:30-9 p.m. Nov. 28 in the KHS Commons. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Discussion will focus on obtaining and installing a scoreboard, stadium lights and grandstands for the football/soccer field, and scoreboards and dugouts for the baseball fields; funding requests; KHS use of North Kitsap Stadium in Poulsbo and status of the Public Facilities District; tennis courts; and concessions.

The boosters have invited members of the North Kitsap School District Board of Directors, Superintendent Gene Medina, other district executives and directors as well as Principal Christy Cole and Athletic Coordinator Dan Novick.

The boosters hope to get many of their questions answered regarding the lack of amenities to fulfill the needs of KHS students, and according to KHS Boosters President Greg Wright, how fund-raising efforts to purchase the needed equipment can be successfully pursued and accomplished.
