BREMERTON: Woman with walker strikes woman in wheelchair over thieving son

A 72-year-old wheelchair-bound Bremerton woman who had reported her son to police for stealing lost her dental crown after being struck by a blind neighbor’s walker

A 72-year-old wheelchair-bound Bremerton woman who had reported her son to police for stealing lost her dental crown after being struck by a blind neighbor’s walker.

The neighbor, a friend of the woman’s son, allegedly assaulted the 72-year-old in retaliation.

An employee at the Bay Vista Commons assisted living apartments on Russell Road reported the fight Dec. 1, according to Bremerton police reports. A 69-year-old legally blind woman reportedly struck the 72-year-old three times with her walker while entering the elevator, though the 69-year-old denied she intended to hurt the woman.

The 72-year-old told police that the 69-year-old called her profane names as she hit her – she said the woman was upset that the 72-year-old reported her own son to the police for stealing her money. She said the 69-year-old was close to her son.

Her crown came loose during the scuffle and fell out in her apartment. No contact was made with the 69-year-old and police reported the incident for information.
