Bremerton National Airport receives grant from FAA

The Port of Bremerton’s Bremerton National Airport will receive $69,000 under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act from the federal government. The CARES Act provides $10 billion to U.S. Airports experiencing severe economic disruption caused by the COVID-19 outbreak. In Washington, 62 airports were awarded funds totaling in excess of $310 million.

The amount each general aviation airport receives is dependent upon the airport’s specific NPIAS (National Plan of Integrated Airports System) classification. As a regional airport, BNA was awarded $69,000.

“The Port will track both the funding received and how it is ultimately expended.” Hendrickson said. “I’m very thankful that we have the support of the federal government in these unprecedented times.”
