Three men were arrested in Bremerton Nov. 16 after they robbed a Bremerton man in the Union Hill neighborhood.

Police responded to a report of a robbery near the intersection of Fourth Street and Veneta Avenue at 6:46 p.m. and found a 35-year-old male with injuries on his face and arms, according to police reports.

The man told police he was walking on Fourth Street when a woman asked him for a cigarette. A group of black males then surrounded him and repeatedly punched and kicked him and took his wallet with $180. He said he heard one male say, “Don’t hit him, cous, just shoot him.”

Officers found a group matching the man’s description near the intersection of State Avenue and Gregory Way. When they tried to run, police officers tracked down three men and the woman. The woman denied involvement in the assault and was not arrested.

The three men were taken to the Kitsap County jail for investigation of first-degree robbery.

One of the men had one felony and three misdemeanor warrants for his arrest and was also cited for obstruction of law enforcement. He was uncooperative during his arrest and told police, “I’m straight crippin’, cous.”
